Crashing with materials editor
show user profile  tommtomm
Dear all
I have been having a serious random problem. I use to have 3d max 8 and I started to get a problem, when opening the materials editor, max just crashes and i end up on the desktop, I thought its about time to get max 9 anyway and so I installed max 9 and everything was going well untill today I opened the materials editor and it crashed. All the work I have done on this file I seem to be unable to add materials. If i start a new max file I am able to go into the materials editor, the problem lies in the old files (made yesterday in max 9) I have created that I am unable to edit their mat. I have installed service pack 2 and I am using 3d studio max 32-bit on win xp.
pls pls pls some one help me. the only link on google had no solution.
cheers guys

Have you tried merging your objects into a new scene?
