Looking for a Conceptual Artist, Digital Illustrator, and/or VFX Artist to collaborate with on a pet sci-fi project

I realize this is a little unorthodox here, but I wanted to reach out to the community and see if anyone's interested in this.

Hello! I'm a freelance director in LA with an idea and I'm looking for a visual artist with whom to collaborate to develop it. I have a good amount of amateur VFX experience which you can see on display in this short I made: White Elephant, so I'm looking for someone who can augment those skills and create something really great together.

My best example of production experience is my web series) about an election night stuck in a time loop. I came up with the concept, worked with a co-writer to write all the episodes, then moved forward with production. I assembled a professional crew and shot a total of about 60 pages over two weeks. The crew was small, but excellent. Everyone got paid and the set was run on union rules. We made a self-funded pilot followed by five extra episodes funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign.

For this new idea, I looked to reddit to find a co-writer (check out that thread here) and I'm happy to say that search was a success. I got a ton of responses and I ended up connecting up with someone who's had a number of scripts optioned and has already pumped out a draft outline which we are continuing to work on.

As I finish up post on the last few episodes of my web series, I'm looking ahead to what my next project might be. My co-writer and I are working on a sci-fi story about characters who work as Orbital Traffic Controllers for space traffic. What makes this story extra unique is that it's based around a future where morphable, dynamic physical objects are the norm (personal devices that change shape based on function, etc.) The Orbital Traffic Control interface is based around these types of dynamic physical objects that in this case will represent the various ships in the solar system and the planetary bodies, stations, and gates they traverse.

Think of the interface in Minority Report, except instead of a screen, it's a big room, and instead of holograms and images, it's actual physical objects existing in real space. The objects can be moved and manipulated by the users as well as scaled/shifted within the room space via multi-touch-style gestures.

I've made some very crude photoshop mockups of what I'm picturing: Here and Here

Since there's no money involved at this stage, I'm obviously just looking for designers who are interested in the concept and the idea of developing something with a director from the ground up. If you *are* interested, please either PM me or post here a link to some existing work (deviantArt, your portfolio, etc). Production Design/Concept Art work for anything that's been produced is obviously a huge plus and if you have that, definitely link me to the video/short/whatever. In addition, give me a little blurb about yourself and why you're interested.

I'm really excited about this project and can't wait to work with other creatives to build this idea out. I'm picturing really engaging visual concepts and sequences that don't have to break the bank. If you're a concept artist, production designer, visual effects artist, digital illustrator, or any other kind of artist who loves sci-fi film and has the time for a really cool pet project, drop me a line!
