Compositing problem, photo camera settings doesnt match with 3dsmax camera settings.

at work we need to make a composition of some windturbines that are going to be build.

the problem is that when we make a picture of the environment (using alot of gps point and some camera settings like 35 mm lens) the pictures never fits perfectly in our 3dsmax model.

the data in max is exactly the same that we used outside but still it doesnt fit.
we always need to scale things.
we find it strange becouse the data we measured outside should fit perfectly with the data that we enter in 3dsmax

what could cause these problems?

we know that the gps data we use is not the problem.
we think its the camera. we tried alot of cameras(compact cameras, dslr with different lenses) at 35mm. and then using the Max camera at 35mm. but the result isnt the same.

hmmmm my english sucks:D

Stevegek dutch cameraman where are you:D

Max camera assumes you're using a FULL FRAME camera to take your pics, there might be a difference due to the "cropped frame" compact cameras use and many DSLR cameras as well.. if you are using a Cropped Frame camera check with the manufacturer to see how it affects your lens, in my case, it affects it at a 1.6x rate (Canon 50D) so if I'd be using a 50mm lens I get the FOV of an 80mm lens.. 100mm = 160mm and so on..
