Competition Announcement - Sketch-a-scene - RenderBox Studio
show user profile  RenderBox Studio
The Render Box Studios, Sketch-a-scene competition is finally here. The ultimate chance to see your ideas created in stunning full 3D glory.

All that you need to do is Sketch-a-scene, whatever your idea may be, simply sketch it out onto paper and then scan or take a high quality photograph of it and email it to us at: or post it on our Facebook wall.

Alternatively, those of you more digitally inclined are welcome to mock-up your idea using your photo editing or digital painting software of choice and send it to the same address.

Your scene can consist of anything you wish, whether that be a room from your house, place of work or somewhere you have visited or even something that is pure fantasy.

Prizes, T&C's and Entry details NOW available @

I want to see two grown men wrestling in a busy whale slaughterhouse.

I'll sketch it.

- "I want to see two grown "men" wrestling in a busy whale slaughterhouse."

FTFY. Let's not deviate from our script too much here.

I am all for competitions but the prizes don't really excite me much:

-Their idea made in full 3D and rendered to the highest standard. (what if the idea involves complex modelling, lighting and textures? Will you devote your time for free to do this at the highest standard?)

-A one off, A4 print of the final render, signed by the Render Box team. (anyone famous or well known in the render box team?)

-A permanent place in the winners gallery that will be available on our website. (whats your monthly visitor count? will any one actually see it?)

From experience an email to some of the big 3d resource websites works well, they are usually happy to give away discounts and merchandise as prizes.

Just saying...

RenderBox Studio, your English and grammar could be better. Get a professional proofreader.

I don't suppose it matters, I bet you have given up in six months (although I would be happy to be wrong)

Also, it's UK only, you might want to put that somewhere more prominent. I hate nothing more than regional locks on contests.

Please ignore my negativity, and good luck with it!

Sorry RB, you need to already be famous and post statistics on your monthly user counts in order to host a competition to self-promote yourself to ensure your business grows and you become successful and famous... oh wait a minute, that doesn't make any damn sense. Silly me.

are the whales doiing the slaughtering or the victims in this scene, nik ?

how is everyoine going to see the scenes in stunning 3d glory ? a render is a flat image.

gonna drop them into a game engine ?

I've been working on this for a couple of months and never knew what to do with it... I might not win but, what the heck, this is a great opportunity to bring my artwork to life.

Nik that sounds almost, humane, in comparison with the mass whale-rape scene involving space-pirates that i had in mind..

How about a t-shirt with RenderBollox on it? That`d be cool..
