CNC Machine

Thought this should have its own post rather then clogging up the "what are you working on" post.

Building a 3 axis CNC machine. I've already bought the most crucial parts, bearings, motors, fixtures etc. As I get them in I model them in max and then put them together. When I have everything I need (ballscrew and spindle still to come) I'll model them in too and then finish the design for the frame.

The point of this machine was originally to etch circuit boards, but now its just going to be a general CNC machine with a changeable tool mount.

there are two 3000gram / cm torque, stepping motors with 200 steps per rotation to drive the x and Y axes, and a 1000gram / cm torque 200 step stepping motor for the z axis (tool mount)

minimum resolution is 12.5 microns.
Bed size is about 300mm x 300mm

added more to the frame. Centre rods to be drawn as ball screws as soon as I have the specs.

Fixed the lighting, added a ball screw. Doing the frame is the hardest part for me, so if anyone has any tips or improvements, i would love to hear.

Next is the routing head assembly, the Ball nuts, cable carriers and then finally the bed.

speaking of beds, enough for tonight.
