Cloth like texture thingy for my lamp shade!
show user profile  jakeywunder
So here is my lamp shade:

I have an entire lamp and it's super sexy and stuff it's just hidden ^^

BUT! I need to put cloth on this lamp shade! It will either look like a thin cloth surrounding it, or a thin leathery cloth surrounding it..

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I'll worry about the actual texture later, at the moment I'm concerned with getting the actual model on there.. I have NO idea how to do it or even to start it D: As I mention all over the place on this board I'm totally noob, so if you could be as detailed as possible or possibly link me to a tutorial that would help I'd be greatly appreciative! Thanks!

Also, as you can see in the first picture, my little side menu to the left with all the buttons going up vertically has disappeared.. How do I get it back? D:

Why not just poly model the shade? Its a super simple shape.

It's my new policy now to exit a thread as soon as I see pics that don't fit my screen.

Yes, next time, please refer to the image size rules!

You've already done the hard work, there are several ways you could make the shape from what you have.

You could extract the outermost edge of each bit as a spline and make it from splines.
You could create a new object and create faces from the vertices you already have there.
