show user profile  smou7a2010
hello to you all.
I want to find a solution to my problem,
I have a character that appears in the cape, I made the skin with bonespro
the problem is that I want that a part of my mesh will be animated as a cloth, I tried some solutions but without reliable results.
I work with 3d max 2011 http://www.maxforums.org/members/smou7a2010/view.aspx?image=what_i_want

make a clothing group with the vertex you dont want to be cloth driven (( recomendation, use soft selection on the group )) and make the group preserve so it preserves it's original animation.

I have not really understood the idea because I not found the soft selection un cloth and group properities,I think that you mean that I should make vertices as collision object and anothers that cloth object ??? is this the idea

it is not exactly what you need but it uses what you need

if you still feel lost with this, let me know and I can make you a video specially on this (( since I already have a scene I can use for the example ))

I just made another video specifically in clothing.
if you have doubts on what proprieties are the best for your cloth look at the autodesk help on cloth proprieties, it haves a very good explanation of each attribute
