3d circle from autocad becomes a square???????

Hello
I am using AutoCAD , i exported my file to IGES format so i can render it with 3dmax

The problem am having is that for every cylinderical shape i see a square on each face and when renderng you still see this square on both ends of the cylinder which is spoling my whole thing

Please help

Why IGES when 3ds max can import DWG files?

Thanks for your your reply

The problem is that i can easily import the dwg files , but it doesnt render it as a solid
I always see the whole thing with all the lines and not yet able to render it.

Am sure there is a way to render using dwg files immediatley but am still new to 3d max and up to now i didnt succeed

your help will be greatly appreciated and will save me lots of times

keep in mind that am using Mechanical desktop (dwg or dxf) which is very similar to solid works or inventor

This is your import settings during bringing your dwg into max:
Geometry tab / Geometry Options box /

Curve steps
and
Surface deviation for 3D solids (use fractions for max smoothness - heavier model..)

thanks , i will give it a try and let you know

the problem am having now is that the simplest imported file from autocad which is a bos , in 3d max now showing only outside wires as solid rods but not a solid complete box anymore :(
