Hi guys, just wanted to ask some opinion..i wanted to create a model character in armor, should i model them together in 1 mesh or should i build 1 full body mesh and then the armor separately?..i wanted to animate them to make movie,i dont want them to deform when i animated them. Many thanks in advance guys

Separate, but you don't necessarily need to model the parts of the body that's hidden under armor.

but what about arm and leg those?should i separate them as well from the torso?? i once made a complete body mesh when i animate them the arm and leg always deform especially the part where they are connected to the torso like the shoulder and the spine area..
Many thanks~!

If you don't want any deformation at all for the armour, seperate it from the body. Then when you skin it you can apply 100% weighting to whatever bones they're linked to. Else, just be careful when you skin - should get the same results.

I'd build the armour first, then just whatever bits of the body are visible in between.
