Change multiple splines at once
show user profile  magarlick
Hi. Any wise Max 2011 users out there know if it is possible to edit multiple splines all at once? I have a scene with dozens of lines in it. All of them are renderable with a certain thickness. I want to change the thickness of all of them. it will take forever to select each one, one at a time.

Thanks folks.

You can do this too right? (I'm actually asking)

$.thickness = 5.8

But obviously doesn't have garp's safeness in case you have non shapes selected.
It's pretty useful you can do something so simple though.

I don't think it's mapped. Let me try...

edit: Reeves, you're right, it's mapped (though not documented as such).

Thank you, folks. Both solutions worked. I have never used Max Script before, but it's obviously very powerful.

Well we are on the topic of splines. If i have 2 splines intersecting on the same plane and attatch them together, is there a way to actually connect them. IE creating a vert at the area of intersections automatically w/o refining, and doing it manually?

Thanks!

Garp I assumed you could basically do that with any param? But it might not be how it's labelled. I guess you have to then use show properties command...
