Excellent work. Those guys have played their Final Fantasy.

Though, it would have been cooler if the scorpion tail laser was going off right as he cut it so it fired down and destroyed itself. I thought that's what was going to happen and my mind was preparing for brainsplosion.

It's like batman meets japan.

The whole rythm would benefit from a few less 'enhancing pauses', methinks.

Impressive stuff but at the same time I feel like I've seen it all before.

Indy/student filmmakers should be barred from naming their project anything "...Rising," its a ridiculous cliche.

yeah.. IMHO the whole concept is obnoxiously cliche, there's nothing really ORIGINAL about the short. Still very well done though, and worth a watch. I think projects like this are a great sandbox for these guys to experiment and make mistakes.

I think the guys who made it are aware it's full of Cliche's. I bet no one can name a sucessfull Sci Fi type of concept recently that isn't full of them.

It's technically really well done.

Fucking love the animation in this. Poppy and snappy in all the right places.

It reminds me of 'The Animatrix', which I always preferred over the live action films.

This thing isn't a science fiction, it's just a cliche fighting animation set in a futuristic setting. Being set in a cliche future doesn't make it a scifi.

Watching this was just depressing, it's void of anything but production, and it's what results when you have people interested in making the best *insert thing here* without ever inserting that ever important thing. Sort of like pop music, it sings about love but it isn't romantic.
