Caution Radioactive, Photoshop
show user profile  Thomas11juni
I created this a few days ago and I am very proud of the result :) Some people already said the tekst had to be more visible and the image was too bright. But that's the problem with different monitors, it depends on your brightness settings. What do you guys think? Do I have to change the tekst?? Or something else?

Maybe I need to upload it in full size (1920 x 1080) so you can see more detail.

Thomas.

Please don't make fun of my results. This is a learning resource right?

My eyes now have aids.

Go read photoshop tutorials and stop being such a bitch. If you don't get a good response, use it as encouragement to do better. Fucking hate us if you have to, take an attitude of "Fuck those guys, I'll show them how awesome my work can be!".

Just don't be a bitch.

*edit*

Since so many people loved this work, I've decided to write an in-depth tutorial on how to duplicate it!

1: Take a picture of some rocks. It doesn't matter what rocks, just ROCKS, ya know?
2: Make them bitches GREEN like the MATRIX yo.
3: Google "Radioactive Symbol" on google and find the COOLEST ONE. You could make one yourself too if you feel awesome today. Slap that bitch into photoshop and turn the opacity down to 50% and make the layer style overlay.
4: Find a kick-ass pattern on brusheezy and lay that bitch across the WHOLE THING. Make it a little transparent, you know? But mostly just make it obscure the entire image. That's what makes it cool.
5: PROFFIIITTT!!

Totally post up your works guys! This should be fun! I Bet none will be as good as mine though.

Don't worry that not everybody sees it the same way you do. I can see you've put effort into it, and every time you use Photoshop, you get better at it, which is a good thing.

I will be honest, it's not beautiful to me, but you've obviously put work into it, and good for you. Now, make more, enhance your skills and show us some more.

nothing wrong with being proud of you're work...

but it is wayyyyyy too dark.

has nothing to do with monitor calibration. it's just too dark. also, note... just cause this is a learning resource doesn't mean we can't make fun of you or your results.

usually it's either done in good reason or in good intention.

Stephen, please don't be such a smartass. What are YOU doing at this forum when you know everything. I don't know everything, and I know I'm not that person who wants to show me how awesome my work is. Maybe you are?

I'm happy there are some persons, like Nik Clark and Boltean who encourage me to go on.

Thomas.

stephen is too; in his own way...

a word from the wise; you can not be sensitive here and survive.

I'm sensitive for Stephens kind of bullshit, but I'll hold on. I'll wait for criticism I can use :)

This is a lighter variant. I don't want to make it much lighter then this. I think when it's too light it doesn't look good.

I was born a smartass. I certainly don't mean it as a personal attack. If you were here I'd buy you a drink, pat you on the back, and hope you would laugh along with me. It's much harder to improve your work if you can't learn to look at it objectively, and laugh a little sometimes :)

If you read between the lines of me being a smart-ass, there are my critiques to help you out, but I'll just post them separately for you :)

1: A blatant picture of rocks is not a good start to anything. Try to start with a blank canvas when at all possible.
2: Making things all one color , especially an un-natural one, us unappealing to most people.
3: Your art is horribly covered up by the pattern and the opacity issues, but from what I can see it;s just a generic radioactive symbol with some text in a nice font under (btw, nice font)
4: Patterns are not generally your friend for ANYTHING unless you can find a way to obscure them with lighting to make them feel dynamic, or use them extremely subtly. It is NEVER a good idea to put a busy pattern over your entire project. Well, actually I just thought of something that might be cool that way, so I will rephrase, it is never a good idea to put a busy pattern over your entire project, unless you REALLY know what you are doing.
5: I will always be a smartass.

Can I make 1 suggestion, just put all your stuff in 1 thread, that way can we see some sort of progression, and sure after you see the comments rise more people might be interested in giving some hints such as Stephen said:

Look at some reference of what your doing, and the other important thing is display it similar to other works you see around. If you want to be criticised on optimisation, show us wire. If you want to be criticised on your model, give us a turnaround, textures, close ups etc...

Stephen, really!? That was a personal attack :P But ok, I can laugh along with you and it would be very nice to get a drink :) I don't understand what you want to make clear with the points 1 to 5 (well, I understand point 5 :P) I can show you how I did it, and then you can say what you meen.

Donvella: I'll do that.

Thomas.
