Cat - Going from IK to FK on the foot causes odd foot and toe rotation (VIDEO) please help.

This problem is driving me crazy.

When I select the foot and switch from IK to FK, it rotates the foot and toes. Is there anyway to stop it from doing that?

fix the ankle rotation manually
there you go, now you can go from IK to FK and it wont rotate..

Thanks for your reply, but is that the only solution? That means for every new animation layer that requires FK on the foot, I have to manually fix the problem. I'm starting to understand why the game industry sucks when it comes to meeting deadlines.

Anyways, I've done what you said and fixed it manually.

Here is how I did it:

1. I copied the x,y,z world rotation of the foot bone in it's correct rotation.
2. I turn on FK for the foot and when it moves the foot into the incorrect rotation, I manually rotate it back to it's original correct world rotation using the values I copied.
3. For the toes I save a default toe preset using the cat digit manager and restore the toes to their original location.

Does anyone know how to fix it so it doesn't break in the first place? Is it fixed in 3d studio max 2015 or 2016? I want the Cat Rig to be 100% bug free, especially since it's been out for so long.

is it rotating the ankle gizmo each time you go back into IK from FK after fixing the rotation in the rig setup?
it should be a one time only modification in your rig...
It could be something completely diferent, it has never happened to me before. maybe someone else knows whats going on? :(

Which version of 3d studio max are you using?

Could you try something? Make a new base human cat rig. Then click the foot. Switch from IK to FK, you should notice the foot rotating down for no reason.

sorry, I don't have max anymore in my personal machine.
It has been a long time since the last time I worked with 3DsMax. Now I am working on web development and android development. :(
