Nice render! I think the angle in particular needs to be changed. Ease up on the DOF as it's drowning the image atm. I also get the feeling like the chair, immediately to the right of the flowers, is getting in the way a bit. The vase and the flowers should be the focus of the picture, so maybe move the camera left a bit, or zoom in slightly? Once the position of the camera is designed properly, I think it will look fantastic. Keep it up.

I never did photography, but there are a few people here that are able to snap a subject and really make it look intriguing just by the angle and filter.

I think there is a rule called rule of thirds or something like that which helps work out how to position the subject within a frame. Maybe some one else would know what I'm talking about.

sort of looks like POV from a drunk :p maybe ease off on the blur a bit, its really doesn't do stills much good

the clematis flowers are a semi custom texture applied to a plane that i used soft selection on to make it look more natural. the carnations are several planes bent randomly within each other and rotated.

so everyone seems to be in agreement that i should do the following
-less dof
-center more on the flowers

is there anything else?

thanks btw for the great advice.
