Looking for a car model....with most parts...not easy to find...any thoughts?
show user profile  Dr. Jim
Heya guys,

Turbosquid and such has a zillion auto models.....BUT I couldnt find any that have a decent interior, engine bay w/engine...drivetrain..etc.
I dont need something product accurate and with every nut and bolt....BUT I do need the major systems to be there and look pretty good.

This is not an easy model to find. Generic later model car with above attributes.

Any ideas? Places to look?

There's a lot of nice car models with detailed interior that I know of but quite a few with anything under a bonnet... Here's 1978 Lotus Esprit.

Argh. I feel your pain. I just had to do this same thing. I've ended up modeling fuel, air and exhaust systems and a body.

I couldn't find anything good either.

Maybe a case of finding all the separate components and Frankensteining them together to get your own "generic" look, there's some good chassis/engines on TS.

i funny enough, don't have anything of a full full car... just parts of different cars.

if you have a budget for it, i would recommend getting sangre; he's fantastic.

Jim, I meant what model car are you after, I *might* have a access to a fairly wide selection, all low poly though.

I say we all chip in and build the good doctor a car. I will donate my time to model the shifter knob.

Come on! Who's with me here!

Thanks Marko! I could add the necessary parts to one of my models. Frankensteining parts together seams like a good idea as well (also more cheep)...

As far as what kind of car? ...I am pretty open....just a generic later model (year 2000 or up) car.
Nothing exotic or super Mercedez AMG......your basic Ford, Chevy...Kia...Fiat...whatever......just a normal car.

Sangre - I would love to hire you to do something! BUT....I doubt I have the budget.
This is for a spot for an autobody shop....and as a design element, in the background of some pieces I want an 'exploded' disassembled car slowly coming back together from different angles.
This isnt the sole focus of the spot nor does it get any 'hero' time there isnt much budget for it....I was hoping to be able to buy a car on Tsquid or such for $300-$400.....
If you've got something done that you would 'license' to me for this 1 time exclusive use for that price range I would gladly go for that too.
