CAD drawings for injection moulding process ?
show user profile  FX
I recently won a competition to design a new GPS tracking device, I did all the modelling in Max, now I've been asked for CAD drawings, for the injection moulding process
I'm accustomed to sending STL and/or VRML for 3d print, but never CAD drawings, does this guy mean .dwg Autocad style? Surely a mold machine accepts certain file formats ? I've mailed him but got no response as yet.

Can anyone tell me what the process is ?...I don't *do* Autocad :/

I'm assuming, probably wrongly, that I can build splines in Max and export to dwg if that's the case.

*panic*

Hehe, was going to say something along them there lines. In my limited experience if a client first wants something modelled in max, and then they ask for anything involving CAD - interpret it as accurate line drawings :)
