burst my bubble
Joey Parker Jr.
I want to burst a bubble and I know how to do it if it were glass and it made fragments
but I'm struggling with how to make blobby things fracture.
And without plugins if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Here's the bubble:

here's a high speed of a bubble bursting for ya.
almost looks like a slice modifier sliding up from the bottom with a ripple right in front of it followed by a pf of some small drops.

max 2010 now has cloth airbags that support tearing and ripping
you could inflate a sphere and define some tear groups and launch a collision object on it
this will give you the blobbyness and hopefully the tears will help out too
the rest of the fractures can be done using a particle system

Never thought of looking for footage of a bubble bursting.
I guess my google skills are lacking:(
I do have 2010 and the bubble does have to inflate before it pops so
this is sounding like what I need to do.
Thanks all and any new suggestions are welcome.
I will post results when I have them.

looks like a krakatoa work for me and Video composing,
making the bubble sphere, then making it gradually disappear and make a particle system that activates particles with a moving deflector making them keep apart and have initial velocity.

yeah so.. I just made it for fun xP
maybe you will find it useful I'll leave there the particle system and a preview of it in 0.1%
if you cant see it because you dont have the windows media player plugin for the explorer xP you can download the previw here
