Branded Coaster
show user profile  roccodiablo
Hi all

A bit different to the usual arch vis I've posted in the past. I was asked if I could design an image to go on some coasters. It only had to be simple, which suited me fine as my photoshop skills are not good. The glasses are jpegs by the way - not modeled by me!

The attached 3D image is just something I wanted to try afterwards as I've not done anything like this before. I'd love to hear c & c's. If there are loads then I'll post again!

It looks OK but doesn't look like a coaster to me... aren't they cheap cardboard throw-away type items. Having said that I confess to not having seen or paid attention to a coaster for a loooongg tme.

I've attached the photo I was given to base as a guide

Perhaps if you had a pair of binoculars that were wet and you needed to set them on your nicest table?

the table bitmap, its too blurred, not high enough res. Change the shadow to area maybe and increase the size of it.

Because it is such a dull object, take it completely out of context..

Very crude/quick concept:

thats's a great idea. Thanks for that, Dave. I'll have a try at something similar

Davious, thanks for the crit. Agreed of course. I'll play around with the material as well as it'll help with my general studio set up skills. I've not had to get this close to wood before, if you know what I mean.
