Bouncing lottery balls... help
show user profile  magius
hi guys, i'm urgently trying to do lottery balls bouncing within the lottery globe for a exhibition on quit gambling topic. (like odds of winning are 1 out of million and people are wasting money on lotteries).

i dont know much indepth of 3d max, usually my animations are done keyframe by keyframe.. and there are too many of the balls to do it that way. can anyone point me to a tutorial or some pointers on easier / faster ways to animate them? (like using wind/ gravity and such)

or if anyone is interested i'm willing to pay for it to be animated....

heres my image

Ok got the email now, but if all you want is to have the balls bouncing and not have them go down the tube or anything then you literally only need to do the section under the heading 'generation of black balls' in the link I posted. That's all you need.

Make a udeflector and add a sphere that is slightly smaller than the actually glass sphere* and flip its normals, then add that udeflector to the collision event.

* (smaller by the radius of one lottery ball, so if the sphere is radius100 and the balls are radius 10 make a deflector sphere that is radius 90 and flip its normals)

I included the max file in that thread so you could just open that and delete the parts you dont need.

Its really not worth paying for, its like 5 mins work. Though adding a gravity force will add a bit more realism too.

You can turn on the cycle option in the material static event and use a multisub material.

Ive done a version myself, if you cant figure it out, I'd be happy to sell this max file for a small fee ;) Let me know

(It will be a max v7 file)
