Maxunderground news unavailable

Boujou & 3Ds Max

Okay so some of you may know i have been having a bash on boujou & 3Ds Max, well i had a break through today! i find boujou quite anoying to use, but now i think i have cracked it and understand it, so i thought i would post my first moation track, needs alot of work on lights etc, and will continue to do so.

The tracking looks good I guess, don't really know a lot about it though so I might be overlooking some things.

Had a try at it myself too a while ago but I think my footage was just too blurry low res to be of any use for it (720x576).
What resolution footage did you do this with?

yeah the tracking worked well really, just needs more time on the lighting, its was 768x576.

camera tracking software, will take footage and construct a 3d scene from it and allow you to export a camera move into max.

Boujou, I believe costs something like $10,000 for a commercial license. SynthEyes looks like a better alternative for the price (if you can't afford to drop that sort of money)..

-at least I think Boujou was that much when I was looking at it, it is considerably cheaper for a student, EDU version though...

FTR - Boujou doesnt construct anything. It tracks points in 3-space and allows export of specific positions, camera...etc.

And also: MAX subscription has a 3D camera tracker up there. Lots of good tuts as well. And it works pretty well too.
