Bones Question

Hi, I just created a naked model with bones and IK. Now I want to put some clothes onto it. How do I make the clothes move along with the body parts like they were being worn?

You can also create clothes with the garment maker. Here's a tute:

You can use cloth modifier or reactor modifier to simulate the physics. Sorry, I don't know where a good reactor cloth tute is.

dont bother with reactor, autodesk ditched it in the last version of max and probably wont be bringing it back. for now cloth is your best bet, it is very flexible and is able to simulate any kind of clothing object from a simple scarf to a 3 layer wedding dress but is somewhat clunky and slow for more complex clothing.

You can also model the clothes using standard methods and applying a skin wrap mod. no real time physics though...

I didn't realise reactor has been given the boot. Does that mean no more rag-doll physics, or have they got another program to replace that?

they "replaced" reactor with physx in a very half assed manner in max2012. Im not certain of its current state since i dont use it but last i checked no ragdoll there. I expect they will eventually try and give it as much features as reactor had but might take a while...

the current management looks like it hates organics and animating organics in max so people using max for that kind of work have been shafted extensively over the last couple years.
