I've never worked with 3DS Max before, but I've made an incredible model and I just want something that seems to say very simple complete.
Basically I made a mask that has three large pieces of cloth hanging off the side. I just want these to have a gravity effect when the head moves, but not jiggle all over the face or up in the air. Just a simple gravity.
Here's a diagram: ______ _______
As you can see, the V part is the cloth piece hanging off the mask. I just want that part to have gravity. When i try to make bones on the mask the envelope covers the entire mask and tiny pieces of the mask move and make no sense.
I've tried just making a bone for the V part, but nothing happens. I'm so clueless. The idea is like how a person with a ponytail walks and the ponytail moves corresponding to gravity. I have not attatched the mask to the face of the character yet. It's just a simple mask.
I've looked everywhere, but I have no idea how this works.
Mind you, I'm VERY bad at 3ds Max terms and it takes awhile to find things.
All modifiers so far:
Shell (Vision off)
Smooth (Vision off)
Symmetry/Mirror X-Axis (Vision Off)
Just editable Poly.
EDIT: The diagram is bugged.
EDIT: Example: I quickly drew a RIGHT SIDE view of the Model (with indicators to what I'm talking about)
RED: = The pieces of shred I just want to have some sort of gravity effect.
YELLOW = Whenever I add a bone to the shred pieces (red) the YELLOW areas are the only places effected with ENVELOP. Actually, the whole face is. I don't get it.
