Blury texture
show user profile  mic
Hey people,

got two problems

- when looking at textures on an angle they blur and look cloudy.

- Also I have a house scene and one face of the house wall has direct sunlight and the texture looks great with my bump map but the the wall right next to it is in the shade with no sun on it but this shaded wall looks cloudy and you can't see the texture applied to it or the nice bumpy surface.

Any thoughts please?

You are almost always more likely to get respnse/help if you post pics of what you are talking about.

change the blur of the texture to something like 0.2 or even 0.1

Use another SuperSampling (if you're using standard materials) rather than the MAX2.5 star (default). Try Hammersley - that's also good for killing moiré.
You may also set the the Bitmap Filtering to Summed Area, rather than Pyramidical (default).

Cheers

Great advice zeefusion. Looks great now.
But there still is a cloudy look on any area in the shade.
Anyone experience this problem? I'll try and post a pic as soon as I can.
