Blood Knight (finished)
show user profile  Zman
That is it, I am done working on this character ... (for now)
On a side note, I am happy with the model but not 100% happy with the final images I've made. It was hard enough for me to keep working on it for so long instead of working on other stuff and this month's Gnomon contest helped me decide to set a deadline for myself.
I like to personally thank everyone on this forum who gave feedback throughout the proccess, your kind words helped motivating me to keep going and your constructive crits (unlike my previuse project which endured several unconstructive crits from a few ppl) helped me improve or at least know where I stand (sorry if I don't alway sapply your suggestions even when they are correct)

"official summery"
This heavily-armored character is the second of several characters I plan to make (first was the blood elf) which will ultimately build an entire army of warriors with several common design features.
Among these characters, this one experiences the battle up close and personal, hence the special attention to details such as scratches, dirt and blood.

I worked on very high res details and I want them to show so dont start complainning about the high resness :) I've narrowed the width down to 1200.

final image -

full model -

other renders -

I am also rendering a cool "shader test animation" which will be ready in a couple of days.

Awesome mate! :D Love it! Very cool details with scratches and blood all over. Nice strong colours and nice colour combination. Nice shaders for the metal and gem stones! If anything I think the forehead looks to short, or that his eyes are to high up. Especially on the first and second image. The Pose in the first image though is super cool! Very powerful, and nice touch with the DOF :)

Is there a tutorial of how you did it coming up as there use to be? :) I would like to know how you did the sword material, I always have problem with material for my swords, they look like plastic :(

Again, awesome images mate! *thumbs up* :)

Looks great - I think the second render is your best one.

ooh, this thread is back ...
thanks guys.

I am currently working on a detailed tutorial on my texturing technique which I reffer to as multi-channel texturing.

Will post it here of course when Ready.

I've just finished rendering a little shader animation test to checkout how the shader behaves in different lighting -

Found this in your members gallery.

For the 2nd shot, there is no way that guy could hold that position with out having to take a step with his right foot or he would surely fall over.

Unless of course his cape is nailed to the ground...

it looks feasible if he's in the process of stepping. But ya, if standing still it looks like youre right.

ZMan, I never commented before, but this is badass work.
