| Birthday time again |

Well, it's birthday time again. for anyone who doesn't know / remember, i like to go overboard on my kids birthday parties. Here are some of my old posts.
http://www.maxforums.org/threads/last_birthday_of_the_year/0001.aspx http://www.maxforums.org/threads/birthday_party_time_again/0001.aspx
So my oldest son wanted an indiana jones party. So i planned to make a cave in my back yard which is mostly heavy woods. We had so much rain that i had to switch to the garage. So i started with a tunnel that went from the back door of the patio that is attached to my garage.
At the end of the tunnel, you had to go around a large boulder (made from news paper wrapped around a garbage bag full of ballons.
this opened up to a hallway that leads to a main temple room. The hallway and temple are lite by small tealights that mimic flickering candles. I made cones that the lights sat in to look like tourches. Since the candles didn't make enought light to really show in the pictures, here are some of the temple with the lights on. the entire room was lined with pallet sized cardboard that i was able to get from Sam's Club. I them made a foam stamp from a sponge in the shape of bricks and painted the walls with the brick texture. i then hot glued fake moss on the walls.
to complete the illusion of darkness, i put a tarp over the room and the hallway and blocked the widows. Everything in total cost me $0.00 because i used things i found like the Card board slip covers, scrap wood to frame everything in.
For my other son's birthday, he wanted a star wars party. So i spent a while trying to figure out what to do for him. I finally decided to make him a star wars ship.
I thought about a few different ones and finally decided on the classics. So i built an Xwing fighter and a tie fighter to go with it.
And a close up showing R2D2
All the wood for both ships was free because we have 3 skids full of 31"x8' x 5/8" laminate board that we are trying to get rid of. I grabbed 10 sheets before it hti the dumpster. the only thing i payed for was the paint, screws and foam to keep little hands and finger safe. and to make it easier to move, everything comes apart to be moved.

Looks wicked mate.
Though I must say you are incredibly brave using candles to light up a cardboard room inside your home lol

CORRECTION: the tealights are the electric tealights, not real candles.
my question now is what do i do with the xwing and tie fighter now. they're to big to keep cuz they take up way to much of the patio and garage. should i try to sell them on craigslist? and how much. since i didn't spend any money, everything would be profit. I was thinking $100.00 for both.
any thoughts on the fate of the xwing and tie fighter?

e-bay !
Value has nothing to do with how much it cost you to make. It's all about how much someone else is prepared to pay. In any case, the cost is your time & mad skillz.
You could always keep them & rent them out for other kids birthdays :)
Nice work.
Next you should turn your entire house into the death star.

You are SOOO much cooler than my dad!
As far as the fate of the fighters... why not hang them from neighborhood trees so they can be used as the coolest swings in hyperspace?
Unless they're made only of drywall... (FAIL!) But even that could bring you some youtube fame...
