show user profile  mico
anyone ever come across this;
i have a scene of about 10MB. in another scene i hace a mesh (running man) with a biped linked to a .bip file which repeated in mixer, this sits at abot 6mb. When i merge the biped scene into the 10mb file and save it, i get a 200mb file size?? WTF

any help welcome

i hear stories of workstations having too much cpus and memories
bipeds start modeling their own furniture, houses etc, storing it away in hidden layers we can't see
just saying..

max files have odd ways and can suddenly act like a blowfish inflating themselves when scared or agitated, i'd try to import in a new file and see what happens

sorry Nik, it's been one of those days. At one poin whent i merged the biped ans saved, the 10mb file went to 200mb. I deleted the biped, saved the file and it went back to 10mb. Merged and saved the biped again and now it was 250mb. I repeated unril it was over 400mb then it baiked, wierd.

It looks like you guys prefer bone systems? If thats the case it seems a shame because i was really lookin forward to mastering the mixer tool to combine several .bip files

Sorry I had nothing constructive to add. I've had other issues in max where things suddenly bloat the file size. I've always just thought "guess I won't be doing that then".

250 meg files aren't ideal, but does Max still function as expected with these large files? If so, you might just have to live with it :|
