bingo similarity
show user profile  1land
I want to have 20 objects randomly boucing around in a box then the loose objets that bounce to the top or float to the top, get sucked into a tube. Each object has its own identity with a total of 20 objects bouncing in the box.
I started out using 20 super spray ( for each objet) set at one and, as the one object reaches the top of the box, wind blows over the box and pushes it horizontally. but I am having a hard time getting it to go through the tube which is on a horizontal plane, and the object is traveling vertically, then blowing horizontally.
I am open for suggestions on how to achieve this. I may be completely off course.

your tube is a horizontal plane??

from the point of view of a person that didnt write that paragraph its very hard to understand exactly what you mean. post a picture of your scene and we'll try to work it us for you. my guess is you're going to better off using pflow and not superspray but lets see a picture and we'll go from there

Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words
I do not know how to insert a picture in this reply to show you what I am trying to accomplish

Mr. Grotey
First I want to thank you for showing me how to upload images onto this site.

Now with this link:

My overall purpose of this exercise is to basically create a bingo machine.
That is to have , say 10 balls, randomly boucing around in a box, then as they bouce around in the deflector box, they evntually bounce/float upwards, 5 of the balls are either sucked or blown through a tube and fall into a bowl.

In this scene in progress, I have
1 tube
1 drag
2 deflectors
6 superspray
1 wind

My problem is to have the balls maintain a rondom action.
When I assign super spray to an individual spacewarps they seem to loose their random action

Bottom line is that how can I make this project choose different balls each time I run it so that
I will get a different result with the 5 balls ending up in the bowl.

I really think you should be using pflow, you can then use a find target event which you can turn on after a certain amount of time and have the balls get drawn towards it and still maintain some random movement. if I get time tonight and if you have done it alre4ady I'll see if I can know up a demo (though im really no expert in pflow myself)

I am below novice stage with pflow. I pulled it up, played with it, starred at it, it starred back at me and won.
So I also will have to do some knowledge base investigation to see how it works
thanks

K here's my very crude and most probably untidy attempt at something like you are after

apologies for the brief descriptions but hopefully you should be able to work it out.

Yep and I just got paid to do that tut :) (dont tell the boss!)

by the way 1land the deflectors use the particle's pivot point as the point they hit, not the mesh, so you need to make the box deflector smaller (by the radius of the balls) so they dont come through the sides when they bounce off the walls

Thank you for sharing the max 7
I started working on your description of it and your max 7 cleared up some items.
