Better way to find old posts?
show user profile  Boing
I need to find an old post of mine from 2011 - ish, my 'activity' only lists recent posts and due to a password reset, it won't find old posts anyway. I've searched under my name and the appropriate terms but can't find anything, is there a foolproof way of listing all threads you've started?

Never mind, I actually found it by doing a google search....

curious that the sites own search engine is less unsuccessful than google though?

Well, this site was developed by one guy. Google has a few more people working on the search functions than we do!

Glad you found your post though.

Not bitching, just thought it was strange that there wasn't a way to find your own posts.

I think we all agree that the search here, while functional, leaves something to be desired.

Out of curiosity, why doesn't the board adopt a standard BB template with improved functionality? is it a cost issue or difficulty moving data over?

It's maintained by one guy with a life and a job that doesn't involve farting around on forums.

There might be a new version in the future, I know we have plans for more features and a rewrite. If and when it might happen, I don't know.

i agree with boing on the search function but even less then that being fixed, it would be nice if the activity button under profile would keep more of the posts that we create. it shows a comment that i made 3 years ago but doesn't show posts that i made 6 months ago.

gogodr: that actually works......Why do I still not know how to use Google after 15 years? :(

How can I have been using Google for 15 years?

Jesus, remember when people were asking you if you'd heard of Google?

There are people old enough to drive who have never known a world without Google.

Jesus I feel old.
