Bercon wood - help?
show user profile  mike_renouf
Can anyone recommend a tutorial for the Bercon procedural Wood map please? I have no idea what I'm doing apart from playing with values randomly and getting nowhere.

I've trawled the web and found nothing so far. I think there used to be some support on Jerry Yilammi's website, but its no longer supported?

Cheers,
Mike

I suppose it's too early for that.
Why don't you use just Max? You should get pretty result procedurally, even though is faster to use just plain bitmaps.

There used to be a thread or two on cgtalk when Jerry was developping the bercon maps.
It was quite a few years ago though.

Bercon maps are a plugin for max - additional procedural maps. I thought I'd investigate the bercon procedural wood in order to cut down on the need for uvw mapping, thats the main reason for trying.

@Garp, thanks I'll try CGTalk.

This is what I was able to come up with just through messing with the settings myself:
