beginner begs for answers

hey guys,im used to do 3d architectural presentaions iin autocad, and now i just shift to 3ds max, and im having a hard time trying to make something.. how can i do walls, windows, doors, and the like.any suggestions guys?

there are some standards called AEC Extended for walls, and doors and windows in the same dropdown menu, although I think more experienced modellers just use poly modelling for walls and doors etc. Import your AutoCAD drawing and build around it... you really need to take a look at the tutorials... F1

As Chris mentioned: Polymodeling. To begin you COULD use shapes and extract it, but polymodeling is fairly simple if you get the hang out of it.

Look for some basic tutorials, whether you make a wall or a robot, in the end it's just polygons you're creating and putting it all together. :P
