Hi Rob,

Really nice layout and composition. The DOF works well for me too. Its a very good start. Maybe add a nice flower in a vase to the other bedside cabinet behind the bed?

I'd suggest that your wallpaper texture is too large - it should repeat more frequently if that makes sense. I think the bump map/displacement for the bed sheet is god but perhaps a bit too pronounced.

In terms of colours I'd like to see the pillows and wallpaper pushed more towards green or more towards yellow. As it is they're a bit of a sickly combination of the two. Perhaps try shifting the colour temperature for the whole image towards the blue end of the spectrum.

Can't really see any modelling issues, apart from perhaps fluffing the pillows a bit so they have a seam at the edges.

Can't wait to see this one finished.

i like it, however the camera angle is doing anything for me. There is not enough in the scene to get me excited, maybe keep an eye on the rule of thirds.

I like this a lot. The bed is amazingly well done.

The only thing that caught my eye (in a negative way) was the bump on the wallpaper being too much. I agree that the camera angle could be adjusted, maybe slightly higher and looking down more? Though I don't think you should change it too much as it's already great.

P.S. Nice pic of your kid.

Nice image. I like the feel of the scene. The only thing that sticks out to me is the feel of the room is CG and you have a regular picture on the headboard. It just kind of stands out.

It feels a little washed out to me. On top of what everyone else has said I think it would massively benefit from some harsher DOF and also some more contrast between the lighting of the window and the darker areas of the room.

Cute kid.

As said on FB, really nice render man, it's starting to take shape eh?

I have little to personally crit, but having read the others I find the lighting a tad too harsh and maybe the DOF could be upped a smidge. Also seeing jaggy lines around the drawers, nearside, and the bed frame - and something strange about the mattress material - which I assume is just due to draft/test render settings and not a final whack. I could be wrong, archvis isn't my boat. Look forward to seeing this finished man!

Bed, pillows, bed materials, wood drawers all need work. Golden pillows :/

I can't understand the wall paper thing at all...

Again why such weird angles..

Keep working.

I would take the camera back. A lot. Cause whatever you do, when you are this close...using models which are used to will show the bed spread & pillows as 3d. Or you need to mix and match a lot, with more nicer props so it all blends in. Try adding more props around the the way you do need some reading lights :)

If you create space, you can add in a tray with tea...spectacles..probably..

Oh and by the way..those books..won't it be difficult to remove and keep them.. :D

Keep it up mate..

How did the freelance work go.
