some of you guys may remember this from way back. I started this project back in 2008 but it got to big for the computer I had at the time and then life got in the way so it was put to one side for some years. anyway I wanted to get back on this project so here I am again :)
I still have a lot to do here and some times think Im never going to see the end of it :)

Crits/feedback welcome good or bad :)

Looks good. It would be nice to see more variation on the brick wall. Also the light coming in from the left could use a shadow map to simulate something outside (trees, fence). Small detail but I think it would be fitting.

The glass at the bottom right corner does not look so hot. Floors are too clean and consistent. I'd add some material stress to them.

Balcony areas do not not look right. I'd suspect they would require more support to the walls in some way (I'm not an architect though).

Good reflections on metal, but I'd add more stress to the materials. Maybe some anisotropic reflections.

Rail height seems too short. OSHA would probably be up your ass. ;)

Just a few things. Good base to work from though. Looks nice.

Are you using a lot of GI in this? I feel that the lower pits in this image could be a bit darker to add more contrast too.

Looks a bit too neat overall, too repetitive, more dirt/grunge/dust etc...needs a silhouette of a floating pig in the top windows too. :)

Agreed with some of the above points but it is looking really good, i love this kind of thing.. I think something like this would be more suited to video rather than stills - a treatment something similar to Alex Romans famous The Third & The Seventh would really sell it IE more of a series of cuts between abstracts, closeups, etc exploring the geometry and lighting of the environment ( https://vimeo.com/7809605 )..

9krausec yes you right I need to work on the glass the floors would have been clean I'm trying to make it look as it would have looked when it was new, The balconys are just like that in the real building. The thing you say looks like a door just floating in space is in fact a control console. it should be sitting on the floor but will have a another look at it just in case, as for the metals I will have a go at adding anisotropic reflections thanks, The Rail height is about right, it maybe that the scale of this place is huge, if I put a few people in it maybe that will help. I did not use any GI in this image, thanks for your input its a great help :)

Make of it what you like mate, that's what I want so that's what I'm going for :) ,To be honest my reason is the building was left to rot for well over 30 years so there are a shit load of pictures of it looking like crap online, but there is hardy any of it looking as it did when it was new.

Here's a lighting test, rendered with Vray but GI right now not sure that I need it looking at this. I have now fixed the gaps above the windows on the left hand side wall. so now I think I need to work on the textures as I'm happy with how the lighting looks. any input from you guys is appreciated

Nice angle, lighting coming in from the right looks good...btw I was drunk when I suggested PBR.

...still needs a pig :)
