Hi i have had backburner working for a couple of months now but i have just been trying the HOTfor max plug in and i cant render it through my back burner because of the plug in, I have tried to copy the plug into the same folders on my second comp - no joy? i have tried to put the plug ins into a shared folder in my documents and point max to use the plug ins from there - but still no joy?
im not sure what i am doing wrong?

If the plugin works well on the other comp then it should work well in backburner as well. did you open max and test that it works properly on it ?

Hi, yes the plug in works on my main comp (its rendering as i speak) but i would like to get this plug in rendering throug the back burner?
I created a folder inside the max folder in my documents and told it to share with home group read/write Then i told the max file to use the smae folder for my plug ins using "configure system paths/3rd party plug ins" but no joy? have i missed something??

I'm not familiar with that method.
on your OTHER computer, did you launch max and check if the plugin works ?

never used bb, but check you've installed the correct version of the plugin.
right version of max, 32 or 64 bit version as appropriate.

ok i have fixed it, I thought that the file would carry over the information relevant to pointing max towards the plug in folder. What i did was open the max on my other comp which is only a trial version that i didn't want to open if fear that it will expire in 30 days and no longer work as a render node??
but i opened it re-directed it to the shared folder and it's all working :)
but will my max no longer work as a render node once the trial has expired?? and what if i want to change the file location later on after my max trial has expired?? I thought there must have been away to do this through back burner settings or file settings without having to open each version of max on a render farm?
