Autodesk Material Library
show user profile  K u r a i
When I assign the Mental Ray Renderer I get access to the Autodesk Material Library (see image).
But when I assign Corona Renderer I cannot access this material library anymore.

Does anyone know how I can make it work in Corona?

I know where the Autodesk library is located C:Programs 86/common files/autodesk shared/materials
When I copy and paste into 3Ds Max Material Library in Max Root 2015 nothing happens.

Herfst1 ... you are very resourceful with your answers.

I want to use the Autodesk Materials as markers for just blocking in stuff.
I do the same in Sketchup... use SU materials as markers cos they are low res.

Since I installed Max 2015 I have lost all the textures from Vray cos I decided to go 100% with Corona instead of Vray. But, all my textures (that were Vray) have gone black.

Damn... what to do?

The best answers are often the most succinct. And I gave the best answer.

I did, you just didn't understand. USE CORONA MATERIALS if you're using the CORONA RENDERER. Just like you should use VRAY MATERIALS if you're using the VRAY RENDERER.

Can't be any fucking clearer than that.

If you get alternate advice, it'll be the wrong advice.

Just because the answer's not the one you're after doesn't make it wrong. More the other way round.

But, hey, don't believe me.

Well, there is an answer to your question.

Somewhere in the material editor, there is a tick box to "show incompatible materials", which makes all the materials show up in the material editor. Use this and you will have access to them all, however they won't render in the material editor while you have Corona selected as your renderer unless you change the material editor to be using MentalRay.

Thanks Nik... it worked. I just want to use them as markers.

Well, he is actually pretty damned helpful (and a nice guy generally), but his methods of help can rub some people up the wrong way. :)

I was joking... Herfst has never upset me... in fact, the site would not be as good without him :)
