Autodesk Matchmover

Anyone used this? Im having a headache of a time trying to track this footage which nothing in the footage stays on camera long enough to get a decent track. Ive tried repositioning my track points half way through but it says bad quality etc.

Anyone with any helpful tips?

Matchmover is fairly weak as far as trackers go you may want to see if you get better results out of voodoo. A friend of mine used to get great results out of it, it was a good alternative to bujou.

Problem is that it's probably bad footage, if you say you can't find consistent tracks to put markers on then you may not be able to get decent results. Whoever took the footage should've planned ahead for camera tracking.

For anyone else that comes across this thread, use Mocha, it comes with a variety of new tools for difficult tracking. Videos available

Same issue as voodoo, boujoo and matchmove. Cant use trackers, the focal length changes dramatically and too often, there is nothing in the shot for more then 10 frames that is stable enough to use. Plane trackers in mocha seem to be doing the trick, they can use large areas of texture to track instead of using ponits. Im going to have to use a few different methods and merge them because of this stupid shot.

The videos I linked explain this about syntheyes (although I havent tried it yet)...

edit: Mocha only does 2d tracking... work mate suggested tracking 2d points onto the footage, then tracking that in 3d... Ill try that and leave an update for those who are interested.
