Attach sub-object elements
show user profile  topofsteel
I have a mesh where the sub-object elements are the faces. When I select attach, I cannot select the other sub-object elements. If I try attach list, they do not show up in the list either. The mesh originated as an imported .SAT (solid) file. How can I combine all of the faces into a single element? Thanks.

attach will attach object to each other not sub objects to the main object
you'll have to do that yourself
select all verts (ctrl+ a) then press the weld button with a small threshold
then check for holes in border mode with the lassoo around everything- weld the verts here (ctrl+ click on the vert icon in the right hand menu to convert the selection to vert) with a higher threshold till the unwelded weld

Thank you. The mesh was pretty tight and I didn't need to fix any holes. The SAT files comes in as a Body Object, there are all kinds display ans welding options, but nothing I tried fixed that. Thanks again

if some of the faces are flipped convert to editable mesh and look for the 'normalise' button in poly mode- should help
