Artrage: Setherial?
show user profile  Lazmo67
Someone showed me this and it's a nice bit of software for the price. Wondered if Setherial had seen it?

Unfortunately the webpage doesn't do it justice.

great program.
And seems to have less delay when drawing with a tablet, than PS has. (unless you disable hardware acceleration in PS, but that sounds like a bad thing..)

Terribly boring signature.

I'm not a big fan but its pretty good on pc and last time I checked (was version 2.5) it was very cheap. I bought it for the Ipad as well a while back but its very sluggish (on Ipad3) and I would not recommend it. On the Ipad procreate is the best application you can buy. On pc if you want something feature rich but still way cheaper then photoshop or painter I highly recommend Manga Studio 5. i bought it for I think 80$ and its fantastic for digital painting and drawing, way better then photoshop (not allround ofcourse, just for painting and drawing which is its focus)

Waiting for the android version!

The samsung galaxy note tablet has a pressure sensitive pen with a fine tip, so in theory it should be pretty awesome on it!

It seems you have to buy a "physical" copy of manga studio 5. Pinch me, i think im dreaming.. I will pay shipping costs for software when hell freezes over. If they offered a digital download they would already have my money.

http://manga.smithmicro.com/mangastudio5/#pricing

From the site:

Price does not include shipping,
handling, taxes, customs or brokerage fees.

The creator of Manga Studio, Celsys, has discontinued the digital download version of Manga Studio 5 and Manga Studio 5 EX, and are only making the physical shipment versions available. In compliance with this, Smith Micro is no longer selling the digital download versions of these programs.

Guess ill keep mucking about in Krita.

Okaaay.. For the seriously interested. Seems there have been a bit of a breakup/disagreement between smith micro (distributor) and celcys (the developer).

Clip Studio Paint is appearantly identical to Manga Studio 5. Its essentially rebranded and can be purchased directly from this site:

http://www.clipstudio.net/en/

Note im not making any guarantees but even the videos are the same and you can directly download a trial without filling in any forms. On the Smith Micro site you have to create an account just to download the trial.

I am looking for something solid to paint/draw in. While Krita is nice for FOS it has its problems and if this is great I have no problem buying it and just be done with it. Its on sale right now (no doubt to gather attention) and will set you back 40 bucks.

Playing in the trial now.. Very pleasing and looks exactly like manga studio 5 as far as i can judge. Cant burn myself on this for 40 bucks. :)

PS
Just bought it.. with discount and after conversion from dollars it cost me exactly 30. Thanks for the tip seth. Done fussing with software! :)

Disclaimer.. I cant guarantee this IS manga studio 5 rebranded but I am following manga studio 5 tutorials right now and I havent had to "think for myself" at any point so far ;)

That said.. just download the trial and see for yourself.

On Androind buy Artflow, its the best android painting app and works great with the samsung note pressure sensitive pen.

3dioot: I bought mangastudio online at their site as digital download. 5 minutes later I was painting.
