ignore the texture of the cupboards and floor and cieling, i accidently used the same materials but ill sort it lol.

anyways what do you think of my first aquarium.

Great start. Update us when it's more complete.

It would be better if you modelled it rather than relying on bitmaps for the stuff inside it.

i know its abit bright this was a first render. ill post up a new render after fixes later. tbh i think its quite good for a first time aquarium.

Its never going to look great with the aquarium image applied to the faces of the tank. if you must use a bitmap and not model it then from this angle you could apply it to a plane spanning the diagonal between the left and right corner inside the tank and leave the side of the tank transparent as they should be.

hi nik will do and ye i will be modeling the stuff inside as this was just a quick mess around. just one quick question tho.

to get the water looking like that i just put another box inside the glass and used a water material with a bump of 20 inside the bump is a noise of 48 and set to turbelence.

what would actually be the best way to make water inside a glass and have like foggy bits inside the water as aquariums are never 100% clear water.

thanks grotey the sides are transparent ive only added a bitmap to the back plane but the noise and bump have made it like that.
