Any idea how you do this on a torus??

i want to make this type of tire on the torus(its about a motorcycle) but i still cant find a way..any bright ideas??

and what exactly is the problem? try a displacement map or even a bump map.

have you looked at the member tutorials? Our Error404 (Daniel Buck) has a couple for modeling tires treads that should be a great guide for you. The tread is different but at least it's a starting point and you can work your style of tread in while still following his instruction.

yea i saw it..i try many things all morning but this its kind of different..its not like a car tire//ita a bit different..thanks anyway everyone who post

What difference does it make what vehicle it will go on?
And forget about the torus, errors method will work better probably.

Make a plane with a couple of segments, and cut one of the shapes on the right side of the tire in the plane, extrude it down.
Copy it, mirror it, move it for the half of lenght, and weld it with the other side. There will be cleanup after each step...

Then do what he did to make it round
