Well thought i'd join in the recent fun and try my hand at a car though its slow going.

Havent got too far but thought it might be worth posting in case anyone spots anything before i do too much more.

One thing i have noticed is that the tutorial in a number of occasions gets you to split polygons, resulting in 5 sided polys elsewhere which i thought was a no-no, but not being sure i thought id stick to the tutorial unless i get told otherwise.

I havent followed this tutorial, but sometimes 5/3 sided polys get sorted out later down the line. Also, sometimes they don't cause any trouble.

Looks like a good start anyway mate.

Tris and fives don't matter on flat nondeforming surfaces so they prolly aren't a problem.

A little bit more progress. I've spotted quite a few bits on it that seem out so before i go further i'll need to sort the mesh out a bit.

Good progress mate. Can see quite a few bits that are off, but i'm guessing the tutorial will deal with them later on. Keep going!! :)

Now im getting further im finding the tutorial tougher as its less detailed, assuming you can do stuff for yourself, resulting in some of it being quite difficult but its getting there.

Not had much time to spend on this recently so theres not too much progress but heres what ive got. Theres quite a lot i can see wrong with it, but please point out anything you guys see in case i havent spotted anything.

Found the trims round the windows quite hard, so there a bit all over the place at the moment.

As suggested by Joey i used Daniel Bucks tyre tutorial to learn how to do that part.

Here's my input...

1. Top of windscreen is very angular and not a smooth curve like the photo.

2.The top of the door seems to be outside of the chassis and not flush with it.

3. The ridge seems to be too high up, there is too much metal above the window (and top of door) and not enough height to the roof due to this.

4.Wheels just need re-doing to suit the better ref that Joey has given you. they are too flat and seemingly incorrectly proportioned i.e. the hub cap is too big.

5. Bottom edge of window is not straight like it should be.

6. The bottom of the door points/pinches outwards at the seam instead of running with the subtle curve of the overall shape.

7. The transition between the wing and the wheel arch is not sharp enough looking at the photo, too smooth and rounded. Plus the front corner isn't round enough, too pointy.

8. Indicator/blinker isnt big enough or round enough it would seem.

9. That bulge is a lot more pronounced in the photo like two or three times the depth, plus the badge is very flat.

10. The front edge of the bonnet/hood is too angular, needs a smoother curve. And the curve pinches instead of fading out regarding the area of the bonnet/hood just above the indicator light.

11. the seam doesn't seem consistent enough, gets bigger and smaller as you go along it.

Hope this help dude, coming along nicely. Just remember, drawn refs are nice but are only a guide, you cant get better than a photo ref for comparing.
