not much to crit yet, Your block out doesnt have much anticipation on the movements, such as his finger coming forward, theres no momentum.

When he shuts the door, its he looks at the door for quite awhile as he closes it, it looks quite strange, are you using actual reference material?

Its difficult to make out what he is doing, i would focus alot more on the anticipation, exaduration, follow through first, make sure you have a few keyframes for cusioning.

After you have your timing and that sorted out, i would work on your arcs, the way he moves his hand around there is no arcs in the movement, it looks triangluar. Peoples elbows, shoulders etc move in arcs, also, when you wave your hands around like that, they would move in slight figure eights, turn on your trajectory and work on this while you still have your main pose to pose shots (preferrably after you add a few extra keys here and there for cusioning).

Really get this down solid before you start on the face and lip sync.

Looks good so far to me, though a bit linear as mentioned

Are you finding the course useful.... worth the money?

What do you mean by splining?

Thanks for the feedback guys, comments noted.

@donvella - yep, using video reference.

@markoid - yeah man, totally worth it. The curriculum is very comprehensive and easy to follow, the rigs are set up very nice, and the community is awesome. Not to mention the awesome connections you make with the mentors.

Splining = moving from stepped tangents in the graph/curve editor and smoothing them out.

That's friggin grrrrrreat! What's this from? it's reaaaly familiar... hudsucker proxy??

I'm not wild about the way he points at his temple during the 'stuck pig' -- pointing downward (as if stabbing) or other gesture may work better there. To me, pointing & stabbing at the temple / head means crazy or thinking...

Immediately after he closes the door, his right hand makes a motion that should overlap with the closing door movements - it looks like it occurs immediately after the door closes, and is a bit jarring (overlapping the movement will remove that sequence feel).

during the 'i've got a paper trail' portion - perhaps a narrowing of the eyes - he's discovered something wrong and is pouncing on it, so not as wide-eyed (which works really well during the entrance portion)...

GREAT START - the course sounds really cool! keep with the updates!

The last one looks very nice with the smoothing of the movements.

I only feel during the last seconds, when he about to remove the paper / book, when the hand goes behind it really feels very boney movement.

Otherwise very nice.

Nice! Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah there's definitely some more finessing that needs to go on in the body mechanics, which will be sorted out by the end of this week, then a much needed week long break.

This is the end of term, next term we kick off with facial animation. Can't freakin' wait!

@Cloak - Nice feedback man, thanks. It's from It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia. Charlie freakin' looses his mind, it's cllllasic:

@inxa - yeah that's my problem spot right now - I had to set a key on every frame to get those freakin' elbows to cooperate, but it definitely shows. Good eye man.
