Animated 2D People Textures
show user profile  Jock
So a client wants animated people in an animation i'm doing at work so i've been gicen the green light to purchase some but its proving somewhat difficualt to give my money away.

I went onto got3d as theres looked decent, but the site looks out of date with a deal that ran out in january still being advertised, combined with the fact their contact form doesnt work, theres no phone number to reach them on, and the fact that they dont seem to accept anything other than paypal and my company doesnt have a paypal account. Anyone know how to contact these people?

I looked elsehere and the only one i cam across was marlin studios but there people looked like they just walked out of an episode of 'The Dukes of Hazard' and i imagine would actually make the animation look worse rather than better.

So anyone know of anywhere else that does these which you have maybe used and found to be decent?

I'd like to emphasise you point by saying that the latest offer ended not only in January, but January2009!!

Doh....missed that one, even worse.

I did try and just use the company CC but just kept saying it wouldnt accept this type of card, which is a VISA which led me to think it must only allow the actual paypal. Though i'm kind of glad now, because if it is no more, I dont think the boss would be too happy.

marlin studiios office people are ok, but yes, they all walk like they've spent a week on horse-back, and they are too american and cheesy, axyz look completely cg anywhere from mid to close distance and archvision are just shit. how big's your budget? we've often rented a small green screen and filming studio facility for a day's shoot before now. quite economical at times.

there aint that much choice really.

Looks like i've managed to get round it by getting the got3d ones but from Turbosquid which although they were a little more expensive, it meant i was able to download them straight away rather than wait for a dvd to be posted. And at least i'd have some comeback if needed.

I'd love to be able to go the whole hog and get a little filming studio setup for the day but i cant see any way my place would pay out for something like that, they turn their noses up at the odd time i've had to purchase single images from stock sites.

Only thing is the got3d dont move too much, but enough i'm sure to satisfy the client.
