animate a model growth on path

Hey,

I have a path, and a circle. I want to have the circle grow along the path. as a long cylinder.
the Q is- how do I ?

how about if I wanted, as it aniamtes along the path, that it's end /tail, will shorten
(same thing, just also for the end of it to shorten.)

Do this to 'straighten out' the pipe (in terms of uvw mapping)
The most relevant part of the tut for what you want is from about 7m 50s



Then you could use an animated gradient ramp map in the opacity slot of your material to make the tail appear to shorten as it animates.
