I have angered the layers manager.

I just tried using the Layers tool for the first time (seems basic, but it's new to me), and now everything that I create automatically gets added to the layer group that I made. That wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the fact that this layer group was created for my reference images, which I froze. So everything I create now automatically starts as frozen. I can of course manually move each new object onto the default layer to work with, but that's a big pain.

Can I just reset this feature or something? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

You need to set a different layer as the active working layer... or something like that. There is an option for it on the side of each layer.

there's a tick to signify which layer is active- just click the box next to the layer you want

Thanks for the fast reply, guys!

Okay, got that figured out, thanks to you two.

Secondary question, then: Anyone know why I can't delete that layer once I've moved everything out of it? I noticed this as I was still tinkering with it. The "Delete Highlighted Empty Layers" button doesn't actually seem to do anything, though all the other buttons work just fine. I'd just like to know to make sure I can clean up unneeded layers in the future.

needs to be unticked and not highlighted
you can't delete the initial layer at all though
posibly because it houses the default lights- not sure about that though
