aligning vertices in unwrap
show user profile  npcph
I have some rectangle objects that i am unwrapping. for some reason when i do the unwrap, they end up different sizes. they are all going to have the same mapping in the unwrap, so how can i go about aligning the vertices in the unwrap editor? I know i can manually move them, but i have 10 rectangles and to be more persise so the mapping is correct. I'm on max 7 adn oi can't find any type of alignment tool in the editor.
thanks for the help.
Phil

ithink you want them all look similar, right?
so why don't unwrap just one and copy your rectangles afterwards so they all have the same size?
or copy your (best)fitting unwrap-modificator to the others...

hope this helps a bit, U.

just a warning though, as the page says (and im sure he updated it after I query this problem with him) if you use the 'best fit' button, it will only work properly if all the verts' W value in the unwrap window are the same i.e. '0'. otherwise it takes the W value into the equation and you get strange results, so make sure you zero it before using the best fit (shall I repeat myself again?...no twice was enough ;)
