show user profile  rob@dynamic
hi agian.
right i'm trying to render a simple test, its using a superSpray particle system with a sphere,(opacity 70%) as the particle, shooting out and hitting a wall, simulating a jet of water. However every time i render i get an error message say " The application has run out of memory, the application will now close. do not atempt to save your work" Any idea what the hells goin on?

i've try tweaking all the particle setting, i.e. less paticles, smaller, basic mats, etc.. but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone help before i throw my machine out the window. Cheers

Like the message says, you're out of memory. You should in fact go ahead and throw your machine out the window and get a new one.

Glad I could help :)

Its not your hard drive memory its your ram. How much have you got and do you have 32-bit or 64-bit system?

If 32 i'd suggest googling the 3gig switch and doing that.

Virtual memory doesn't cut it for everything. You need so and so much physical memory to render big scenes.

Maybe if you cut back the amount of particles.

Every error message ive seen in Maxforums, and there a lot, regarding memory have all been RAM related.
