after effects settings
show user profile  stevey2shoes
Hi
What settings do people use for their final renders in after effects?
If you saw my popping cork video I posted yesterday, I said the colours ended up a LOT darker than they appeared in either 3ds MAX or after effects, so I'm at a loss as to why after effects decides to darken things up without my consent.
I sued to favour WMV file format and shy away from quicklime and FLV, because they either needed a separate player or the colour was rubbish.
I'm also inclined to think I NEED something in the HD range, as the resolution is there and shouldn't be wasted.
I also don't understand the standard frame rate of 29.97, I reset it to 30 fps will this cause the problems im having (those also being that the sound cuts out, starts and stops, and the picture freezes, almost as if its trying to read it jpeg at a time from memory)
I also use full and not half resoulation
So I suppose my question is, what settings do you use for you final after effects 3dsmax renders
thanks in advance
steve

Dude, you gotta structure your questions so ppl could understand you.
Number them, paste images if possible.
this kind of long texts are very hard and pain-in-assable to read.

OK thanks
When you set after effects to make your final render what options do you choose?

Frame rate should be left intact i guess.
And darkening is a result of gamma correction.
But i can't help with that because i am trying to get it in my head myself now.
So try to tweak gaam correction settings in your AE.

thanks, Ill look it up, but in the meantime, do you know where I can find it, and does this affect the end result only as the version I see in the preview window is perfect as it is.
thanks steve
