AE sound problem
show user profile  stevey2shoes
Ive tried rendering a video on After Effects and when it plays back, the sound drops out once, usually at the same place.

i composed/rendered it as a quicktime movie (as this is the only one that i have found to have full 1920 hd) and it plays back on media player.

if i THEN convert THAT file to an MP4 then the sound is perfect.(although the image quality is ruined

the sound never drops out during a RAM preview so the sound file isnt corrupted.
can anyone advise why please?

I KNOW i set the frame rate at 29.97 but used SOME video (muted) that was recorded at 24fps... but this never causes a problem in Ram preview.... only the final video
any pointers plaase
thanks in advance

Only thing i can think of is are you doing ram preview inside a comp, but actually rendering from the main comp which has the nested clips with audio disabled, or something along those lines..

Btw rendering as mp4 should not ruin the quality, it`s capable of pretty decent quality 1080p at smaller filesizes than most of the quicktime codecs.. Have you tried converting with one of the AdobeMediaEncoder presets for mp4?

no, i used this programme called any video convertor (whcih i think was recommended on here), but i use it so infrequently i probably havent used the right settings.,... will recheck
Just tried rendering first time around as an MP4 (to save converting it from a wuicktime mov) but AE wont let me (mismatch)
will continue playing around.
