adobe are so annoying!!!!!
show user profile  zeefusion
I want to un-install everything adobe related! even after removing the program there are bits of adobe everywhere. why?? I have one folder left and its called adobe in my program files. It wont let me delete it, access denied. So I re-named it. Still wont let me delete it.

Next I made sure that no adobe files start up when computer starts, then tried delete. Still no joy.

How do I get rid of this junk? I have full admin rights, so there's no problem with that.

Cheers

Boot in safe mode.

Adobe suck ass.

A friend of mine has a version of CS4 that is portable. It requires no installation, no shite is installed with it. This version is not legal, of course, but I wish companies would be less shitty with our systems.

I do not want a system tray icon checking for updates
I do not want you to have an automatic updater, I will choose when, and if I want updates.
I do not want all the extras, google toolbar, etc.

And for fuck's sake why is the PDF reader over 100mb to download now, you a-holes.

Adobe suck. We are Adobe agents here. I hate them.

Wow. n00bs.

Why even bother with deleting the folder? Oh, heaven forbid, there should be a single folder named "Adobe" left on my hard drive! I must reformat!

Noobs?

Some of us resent having shit littered all over our systems.

I agree that it really sucks!

When CS3 came out I couldn't install Photoshop because of a previous version. As there were lots of people having this issue, the CS3 beta time came up with a fix that has different levels of scrubbing. Here it is (glad I didn't trhough it away):

Read the CS3Clean.exe.log file first for instructions. Not sure but I think it removes the registry entries as well.

I hope it's not illegal to share it around :°

If you boot from a Linux Live CD, you should be able to delete files Windoze has locked.

Be careful not to delete anything required by the OS, of course ...

well thats not very practical when you use it for work and its industry standard and people bring you .ai or .innd or psds.

Adobe should be cleaner on thier coding and thier un-install. Its just sloppy cos they want to get the next version out quick.

Or, people should take better care of their systems so that these things don't glitch out to begin with.

You use Vista right?
You might have full admin rights but I had the same before and it appeared the app was installed with 'security' restrictions.
This might help you. http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/31ad4562-aee7-4fed-8316-89114dc973031033.mspx#EI

Using a Linux Live CD is very practical for situations like this.

Download & burn Ubuntu. It's much easier than you think.

"hmmm..ok I installl, I unistall, it leaves crap and thats my fault for not taking care of my systems...Yeah ok. Whatever."

As an IT professional who fixes computers as my job, I'm saying, yes, yes it is. All the time? No, probably not. But in this case, absolutely.

PEBKAC.
