adjust plane length from one edge
show user profile  Wingman
Any way to make the length adjuster of a plane go in only one direction, and not from the center and in both directions?

Yes. When you create the plane, there's an option of where to put the pivot. I think it's "base to pivot" or something like that.

I'll just check....

Nope. I was wrong. That's for spheres only. Ignore me.

Move the pivot point to the opposite edge that you want to extend.

That's only true for scaling the object afaik. I think it will still scale from the middle if you use the length setting of the plane.

Edit: Yup.

all correct so far Nik :)
I'm looking for something like that base-to-pivot-option on the spheres yes.

Wingman, if it's for the same project, you might be better off animating an opacity map.
You could use a gradient ramp set to solid and animate the middle flag. Or (what I'd do) you could set the opacity map to its own channel, use a UVW Map modifier and wire its gizmo's position.

If it's for something else, just ignore me :)

Yes its for the same Garp :)
think i found a solution by moving the pivot like Tarkus said, and wiring the y-scale instead of the length. a bit more trouble than using the length, but i think it may work.

The thing is, rescaling the plane will mess up its mapping.
